In a post shared on LinkedIn, Warikoo said he “became an entrepreneur by accident.” According to him, the turning point came during a chance meeting with one of his batchmates from ISB. At that moment, he had no idea the meeting would completely change the direction of his career.
A casual meeting that changed everything
Recalling the moment, Warikoo wrote, “I met my batchmate from ISB one day. It was a random turn of events, except I didn't know it was ‘right place at the right time’.”During the conversation, his friend spoke about a new venture he had recently started. Warikoo, who at the time was still working his regular job, simply asked if he could help out alongside his existing work commitments. His batchmate agreed.
What looked like a small decision at the time slowly became something much bigger. That one step eventually pulled him into entrepreneurship, something he had wanted for a long time but had not actively pursued.
Warikoo admitted that before that meeting, he had spent a lot of time waiting for the perfect conditions before making a move. He shared that he kept telling himself things like, “Once I have more savings,” “Once I have a clearer idea,” and “Once I feel more ready.”
Why waiting for the ‘right moment’ can hold people back
In his post, Warikoo explained that none of those things were actually in place when he finally stepped in. He did not have financial certainty, a detailed roadmap, or complete confidence. Still, he said yes and started anyway.“I didn't have any of that when I agreed to join. I just started. And clarity and confidence followed,” he wrote.
The entrepreneur also spoke about how people are often taught to wait until everything feels perfect before taking action. But according to him, real growth happens only after beginning. He said the process usually works in reverse from what most people expect.
“And that action, in hindsight, becomes perfect timing,” he added.
The message from his story was straightforward. Instead of waiting for complete certainty, sometimes taking one small step is what creates the confidence people are searching for in the first place.
