Ali’s Fight of the Century glove pair finds a new home, sold for $606,375
Goldin Auctions originally hoped to receive a $1 million bid for the gloves. The current record for Ali's gloves is $836,500 in 2014.

“The prices realised in our live and catalogue auction reinforce that the sports memorabilia market is vibrant and that collectors are not only passionate for rare items from legendary figures like Ruth, Mantle, Jordan, Ali and Gretzky, but also boxing, hockey and Olympic sports,” said Ken Goldin, founder of Goldin Auctions.

According to ESPN, Goldin originally hoped to receive a $1 million bid for the gloves. The current record for the boxing legend’s gloves is $836,500 in 2014. Also auctioned was a 1996-97 Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls black road uniform (jersey and shorts) from a game against Detroit, which sold for $69,825; a 1992 USA basketball game used and signed full uniform (jersey and shorts) was auctioned for $62,475. A 2014-15 Kobe Bryant’s used Los Angeles Lakers home white jersey sold for $29,400.
