Alia Bhatt admits she is a 'little concerned' about raising her daughter in the public eye

Alia Bhatt is both jubilant as well as apprehensive about her role as a new mom. The ‘Raazi’ actress who welcomed her first child- a daughter with Ranbir Kapoor, early this November, revealed in a recent interview that although she can’t wait to experience the joys of motherhood she is a little bit ‘’concerned’’ about bringing up her child in the public eye. In an interview with Marie Claire, the ‘Brahmastra’ actress stated that she wants to ensure her daughter has a normal childhood and is shielded from the paparazzi and the limelight until she is older. “ "I am a little concerned about bringing up a child in the public eye. I talk about it with my friends, with my family, and my husband a lot. I don’t want there to be a sort of, intrusion into my child’s life. Because at the end of the day, I have chosen this path, but maybe my child may not want to choose this path when he or she grows up...so that’s something that I feel very protective about, “ she was quoted as saying to the magazine.

The ‘ Gangubai Kathiawadi’ star was quizzed whether she would support if her daughter wanted to continue her legacy and pursue a career in acting, to which she replied, that she wants to ensure her daughter’s childhood is shielded from overexposure and she doesn’t want to have any fixed plan about her future in the tinsel town. "I don’t think that’s something that I can really prepare and plan for. I don’t want to have any fixed ideas of how I want that to be. Because why should I have any expectations and then be met with any disappointment or elation or anything of that sort? So they need the slate blank, a bit."

The power couple announced the birth of their first child on November 6. Bhatt shared the joyful news with her fans with a giddy post, “And in the best news of our lives:- Our baby is here...and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love - Blessed and obsessed parents!!!! Love love love Alia and Ranbir."


On the work front, 2022 had been one of the best years for the actress both professionally as well as personally. She had featured in three blockbusters ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘Brahmastra’ and ‘RRR’. This was also the year when she tied the knot with Kapoor her long-time beau.
