LONDON: Veteran actress Helen Mirren thinks actor Alan Rickman would have been "really, really proud" of his final movie "Eye in the Sky".

The 70-year-old actress said her friend, who lost his battle with cancer aged 69 in January, perfectly showcased his "wit, humanity and intelligence" in the drone warfare drama, reported Female First.

"The Alan we see on the screen in 'Eye In The Sky' is Alan. It's Alan as I remember him. His wit, his humanity, his intelligence.

"I think Alan would have been really, really proud for this to have been his last film."

Mirren also praised the actor as a "genius" who was particularly "amazing" when it came to playing baddies.

"Alan was a genius character actor and he could play all these amazing baddies."
