Akshay Kumar unveils Amish Tripathi's latest book

Last week saw the book launch of Amish Tripathi's latest Scion of Ishkvaku in Mumbai, with the unveiling done by Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. Tripathi invited the star perhaps because of the mutual admiration society that the two are running. The author revealed that Kumar's wife, Twinkle Khanna and mother-in-law, Dimple Kapadia are fans of his Shiva Trilogy books. And that of course, his (Tripathi's) wife and he enjoy Kumar's films, coming away especially impressed with his last thriller Baby.

That said, Kumar is not much of a reader. At the event, when asked if he reads, Kumar answered in the negative. As someone in the audience tittered, Kumar quickly retorted that there's no reason to laugh. He knows that not too many people read these days, hoping to remedy that about himself too.
