Akshay Kumar turns a good Samaritan, Anand Mahindra lauds actor for ‘Monday booster shot’

The corporate captain tweeted about the actor’s good deed.

Anand Mahindra was all praise for Akshay Kumar on Monday morning. And the actor did deserve high praise for being a good Samaritan, and giving back to society.

The Mahindra top boss lauded the ‘Khiladi’ Kumar for donating Rs 1.5 crore to build a home for transgenders in Chennai. In a tweet, the business tycoon wrote that the piece of news acted as his “Monday morning booster shot”.



He hailed the 52-year-old actor’s good deed, and said that he has the “status to change the status of the marginalised”.

The news of the actor’s philanthropic act was shared by director Raghava Lawrence on Facebook on Saturday. Lawrence, who is directing Akshay in the film ‘Laxmmi Bomb’, wrote on the social media platform that during the shoot he had discussed about a transgender’s home with the actor, and his decision to donate came soon after.


In the film, Akshay Kumar plays a character who is scared of ghosts but is eventually possessed by the spirit of a transgender. The movie is a Hindi remake of the 2011 Tamil horror comedy ‘Muni 2: Kanchana’, which was also directed by Raghava Lawrence and featured him as well.
