Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar's birthday turns sour after he lost his mother a day before on Wednesday.

Aruna Bhatia was in her 80s and passed away due to age-related ailments. She breathed her last at the Hiranandani Hospital.

The 'Bellbottom' star, who turned 54 on Thursday, took to social media to express the pain of losing his mother.


In an emotional post, he further said that he was confident his mother would be "singing Happy Birthday" to him from up there. "Thanks to each one of you for your condolences and wishes alike. Life goes on," he wrote.


The actor also shared a throwback photo with his mother.

On Wednesday, the superstar had said that his 'core' had passed away and "reunited with his dad in the other world." "Today, I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence," his caption read.



The 'Khiladi' actor put the UK shooting schedule for his upcoming movie 'Cinderella' on halt and flew back to India on Monday after his mother was admitted to the hospital.
