Akshay Kumar's 'Samrat Prithviraj' mints Rs 55 cr in 7 days at box-office, trade analyst says the film has been 'rejected'
The film had a lot of pre-release buzz, and was declared tax free in several states.

The film has only accumulated Rs 55 crore in seven days, prompting trade insiders to propound that this movie is as good as rejected. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently took to twitter to give a low-down of the film’s abysmal earnings in the last seven days, and wrote, “#SamratPrithviraj is rejected... The heavy budget on one hand and the poor outcome on the other, has sent shock waves within the industry... Fri 10.70 cr, Sat 12.60 cr, Sun 16.10 cr, Mon 5 cr, Tue 4.25 cr, Wed 3.60 cr, Thu 2.80 cr. The film which opened in theatres on June 3 shows Kumar portraying the role of the 12th-century legendary warrior, Samrat Prithviraj, who fought courageously to protect the country against invader Muhammad Ghori.
This movie also marks the debut of former Miss World, Manushi Chhillar as the beautiful Princess Sanyogita, who fell in love with Prithviraj and has been directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. Actors Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood play significant roles in this movie.
