Akshay Kumar appointed as Uttarakhand's brand ambassador after his meeting with CM Pushkar Singh Dhami

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has been appointed as the brand ambassador of Uttarakhand, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on Monday ahead of Assembly Elections 2022.

The actor met the CM earlier today after the state government approached him offering the role of brand ambassador, which Kumar accepted.

"We had given him (Akshay Kumar) a proposal, he has accepted it. He will also work as a brand ambassador of Uttarakhand," the CM said, as quoted by ANI.



Kumar met CM Dhami at his residence in Dehradun on Monday morning where he accepted his offer.

In 2021, cricketer Rishabh Pant, who hails from Roorkee, was appointed as Uttarakhand's brand ambassador. In 2017, Kumar was appointed as the state's brand ambassador for 'Swachhata Abhiyan'.

The actor didn't charge a fee for his role saying that it was an honour for him to be associated with the campaign.

Meanwhile on work front, the actor will be next seen in 'Bachchan Pandey' which is scheduled to hit the screens on March 18. The film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, also stars Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film is directed by Farhad Samji.

Apart from this, Kumar also has other some exciting films in the pipeline such as 'Ram Setu', 'Selfie' and 'Prithviraj'.
