After 'Laal Singh Chaddha' BO debacle, social media boycott trend hits Shah Rukh Khan, Salman and Hrithik's forthcoming films

After Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, it seems like Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan are now the latest victims of the boycott trend that has already affected 'Laal Singh Chaddha' and 'Raksha Bandhan'.

The trolls, who bombarded Twitter with hate messages and boycott calls for Kumar and Khan's latest releases, have now found a new target as old videos of SRK and Salman Khan resurfaced online, with users calling for boycott of upcoming films, 'Pathaan' and 'Tiger 3'.

Hashtags 'Boycott Pathaan Movie' and 'Boycott Tiger 3' have started trending on Twitter with users slamming SRK and Salman for their old remarks.


A Twitter user shared a small clip from an old interview where SRK talked about the "growing intolerance" in India. Khan was asked about whether he believes there's a growing intolerance, to which the actor had said "There's intolerance. There's extreme intolerance. I think there's growing intolerance."
Meanwhile, Salman is also receiving a lot of hate for a comment he had made in the past in regards to Mumbai terror attacks, where the actor had said that "everyone knew that the government (Pakistan) is not behind it. They know that it was a terrorist attack, and more than anything, our security failed."
Not only are the trolls digging up old remarks made by Bollywood stars who are awaiting the release of their films, but they are also slamming those who showed support to 'Laal Singh Chaddha'.

Roshan is receiving the wrath for speaking out in support of film-maker Advait Chandhan-starrer 'Laal Singh Chaddha'.

"Just watched LAAL SINGH CHADDA. I felt the HEART of this movie. Pluses and minuses aside, this movie is just magnificent. Don’t miss this gem guys ! Go ! Go now . Watch it. It’s beautiful. Just beautiful," Roshan had tweeted.


Now trolls are urging a boycott against Roshan's upcoming film 'Vikram Vedha'.

Both the films, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ clashed at the box-office on Thursday (August 11), and failed to reach the Rs 50 crore mark in five days. Despite high anticipation, the films received mixed reviews amid boycott calls on social media.
