After getting trolled, FTII president-actor Madhavan breaks his silence over CJP protest, says 'exam paper leaks deeply affect the hopes, hard work, and dreams of young people and their families'

Actor and Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) president R. Madhavan has finally responded to the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led student protests over the alleged NEET paper leak and demands for education reforms. His statement comes after days of criticism from students, with many questioning his silence and sharing "Gayab" memes and posters on social media and on the FTII campus.

As protests continue to spread across the country, Madhavan issued a detailed statement expressing support for a fair education system, calling for strict action against those responsible for examination irregularities and urging students not to lose hope.

FTII students question Madhavan's silence

The actor had been facing criticism as the CJP-led protests gathered momentum. Students at FTII, where Madhavan serves as president, were among those who questioned why he had not publicly commented on the issue.


Several students allegedly mocked his absence using the viral "Gayab" meme, while posters referring to him as "missing" circulated online and on campus. The criticism intensified as protests demanding accountability over the alleged NEET paper leak spread to multiple cities.

The demonstrations have called for greater transparency in the examination system, stricter action against those responsible for alleged irregularities and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Madhavan calls for a fair and transparent education system

Breaking his silence, Madhavan took to Instagram and shared a long note on social media regarding the importance of education in shaping the country's future.

The actor said every student deserves an education system that is fair, transparent and based on merit. He added that he understood the concern and disappointment felt by students and parents following the controversy. According to Madhavan, incidents such as examination paper leaks weaken public trust in the education system and have a serious impact on the aspirations of young people and their families.

He stressed that education should inspire confidence and create equal opportunities for students rather than leaving them uncertain about their future.

Urges strict action against those responsible

Madhavan also appealed to the government to take decisive action against those responsible for the alleged paper leak. He said those found guilty should face swift and firm punishment so that similar incidents do not happen again. The actor expressed hope that strict action would help restore confidence in the country's examination system.

Referring to the government's acknowledgement of lapses in the matter, Madhavan said he believes corrective measures will be implemented to strengthen the system and protect the integrity of education in the years ahead.

Message to students: Don't lose hope

Addressing students directly, Madhavan urged them not to lose faith because of the current situation.

He further added, "To every young person feeling anxious or disheartened today: please don't lose faith. Your talent, perseverance, and character are far greater than the shortcomings of any system. Continue to work hard, believe in yourselves, and never allow temporary setbacks to define your future."

The actor further praised those who have been peacefully demanding meaningful reforms. At the same time, he cautioned students to remain alert against any vested interests that might try to divert the movement from its original purpose.

Madhavan also reiterated his support for every citizen's right to express their views peacefully and responsibly, saying he would continue to support positive changes in the education system through his voice.

Protests continue across the country

Madhavan's statement comes as protests over the alleged NEET paper leak continue in several parts of the country under the banner of the Cockroach Janta Party. Students have been demanding greater transparency in examinations, stronger safeguards against paper leaks and accountability from those in charge of the education system.

The movement has also received support from several public figures. Activist Sonam Wangchuk recently expressed solidarity with the protesting students and reportedly observed a fast for more than two weeks before being admitted to a hospital in Delhi.
