After Anupama Parameswaran’s 'narcissistic' ex-boyfriend revelations, fans connect the dots to her co-actor after old podcast clip goes viral

Anupama Parameswaran’s recent revelations about a difficult relationship have sparked considerable discussion online. The actor has spoken about an unnamed ex-boyfriend, describing the relationship as emotionally painful and the former partner as narcissistic and controlling. While she has not identified the person, some social media users have connected her comments to her reported relationship with her Bison Kaalamaadan co-star. Now, a conversation from a podcast recorded in 2025 has become part of the online speculation.

What Anupama said about her past relationship

Anupama recently opened up about the impact of a two-year relationship and explained why she took time before speaking publicly about it. In a conversation with Dhanya Varma, she said that there was considerable emotional and physical pain behind one of her social media posts and that she wanted to speak only after she had healed enough to do so.




She also described her former partner as "narcissistic" and spoke about the controlling behaviour she experienced during the relationship. Her comments quickly led fans to revisit her past dating rumours and speculate about the identity of the man she was referring to.

Anupama and Dhruv Vikram had been linked romantically by fans during their time working together on Bison Kaalamaadan. However, neither actor has publicly confirmed that Dhruv is the ex-boyfriend mentioned in her recent interviews.

The speculation has now gained another talking point, with social media users revisiting an October 2025 podcast featuring the two actors.

What happened during the podcast?

During her conversation with Nikhil Vijayendra Simha, Anupama spoke about working with Dhruv on Bison Kaalamaadan. At one point, she joked about Dhruv being director Mari Selvaraj’s favourite on the sets.

The conversation then turned towards social media promotions. Anupama said, "No, now for promotions, we click a lot of pictures. In that, I have no voice, nor do others (in the cast and crew). We don’t say anything; we have no opinions. So, he selects it all. He will select which picture I look good in to post it. Rajisha and I don’t look good in most pictures." When the host appeared surprised by the statement, Dhruv asked Anupama not to give him more material for the conversation.

Anupama subsequently clarified her comment, explaining that she was talking about promotional photographs taken during the film's campaign.

She also spoke about their different food habits during the same interview. Anupama recalled that Dhruv and Rajisha Vijayan followed a strict diet while she continued eating dishes such as sambar rice, fried rice and butter chicken. She said she eventually started eating healthier food, including salmon, with them.

Why are fans connecting the two?

The podcast discussion has received new attention on social media following Anupama’s recent comments about her former relationship. Some users have interpreted the interaction between the two actors as a possible sign of controlling behaviour, while others have pointed to the fact that Anupama had previously been linked to Dhruv.

The discussion has also taken a more dramatic turn, with some users comparing Dhruv to his debut character in Adithya Varma, the Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy. The comparisons are based on his screen persona in the film and do not establish anything about his real-life relationship with Anupama.

Anupama had earlier faced speculation about her relationship with Dhruv after she returned to Instagram following a break and shared posts about healing, freedom and choosing herself. Fans interpreted those posts as hints about a breakup.

However, the actor has previously indicated that her social media posts should not automatically be linked to Dhruv. She has also not named him while discussing the two-year relationship or the person she described as narcissistic.
