After Alibaug bungalow, Akshaye Khanna enters Mumbai's billionaire neighbourhood with Rs 33 crore luxury flat purchase

Akshaye Khanna has added yet another high-value property to his real estate portfolio by purchasing a luxury apartment in Mumbai’s Malabar Hill for Rs 33.26 crore. The Bollywood actor’s latest property purchase comes after last year's reports that he had moved into a new bungalow in Alibaug, although that property was bought by him before the success of Dhurandhar.

According to property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards and available on the website of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Maharashtra, Khanna registered the Mumbai apartment in September 2026, which is located at 30 Little Gibbs, Malabar Hill Road, in South Mumbai.

Khanna's new apartment has a carpet area of 2,341.39 sq ft, or 217.52 sq m and it also includes a balcony area that measures at 175.45 sq ft (16.29 sq m), taking the total area to 2,516.84 sq ft (233.82 sq m).


The Mumbai property has three parking spaces and the transaction also involved a stamp duty payment of Rs 1.99 crore, while the registration charges stood at Rs 30,000, according to the registration documents reviewed by Square Yards.

Malabar Hill is regarded among Mumbai’s premium residential areas and this South Mumbai neighbourhood overlooks the Arabian Sea and even provides access to major parts of the city through roads including Nepean Sea Road, Walkeshwar Road and Pedder Road.

In regards to connectivity, the area is also close to most of the major parts of South Mumbai, including Marine Drive, Nariman Point and Colaba.

From Alibaug bungalow to Malabar Hill

The new purchase by Khanna has been done after he had bought a property last year in Alibaug, which was reported by Deccan Herald.

The publication reported that the actor had quietly moved into a new bungalow and a co-star from Dhurandhar said, as per the publication that neither the film’s cast nor director Aditya Dhar had been invited to the new home.

The report also stated that the Alibaug bungalow had been purchased well before the release of Dhurandhar, which simply means that the move was not linked to the film’s massive success that came later.

Khanna's recent success on screen

Khanna has been in the spotlight following his role in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, in which he played gangster Rehman Dakait. The Dhurandhar films, starring Ranveer Singh as the lead star, became major box-office successes. The combined worldwide gross of the two films was reported at more than Rs 3,203 crore.

The actor was most recently seen in the courtroom drama Ikka, which reunited him with Sunny Deol after 28 years. He is next set to make his Telugu cinema debut with the mythological fantasy film Mahakali, in which he plays Shukracharya, the guru of the Asuras. Directed by Puja Kolluru, the film is scheduled to release on January 8, 2027.
