Aditi Dwivedi, an Indian woman who spent 14 years living in the United States, has become a source of inspiration after sharing her experience of returning to India and settling in Nagpur, a tier-two city. A Comfortable and Affordable Lifestyle

In the video, Aditi spoke about how moving to Nagpur provided her with a high-quality yet cost-effective lifestyle. "I lived in the USA for 14 years and then moved to a tier-two city in India. Living in India today is vastly different from how it was 20 years ago," she explained.

One of the biggest advantages she noted was the low cost of living. “Your dollar value will go a long way in a tier-two city because living expenses are very low,” she said. Living with her parents further reduced her expenses, allowing her to save nearly half her salary. "I don't have to pay for rent or utilities except for minor household expenses, which means I end up saving almost 50 per cent of my salary," she added.


Aditi’s fully remote job with a US-based tech company has been pivotal in shaping her experience. "I work remotely, so I don’t have to start work in the mornings. This allows me to focus on my physical health and side hustles," she shared.

Her mornings are dedicated to self-care and personal growth. "I spend 30 minutes on my walk and one and a half hours doing yoga. This is the best part of my daily routine," Aditi said. Her workday begins at 2 PM, giving her ample time to pursue personal projects. "Since my work starts after 2 PM, I get enough time in the early afternoon to focus on my side hustles," she added.

The Perks of a Tier-Two City

Highlighting the advantages of living in a smaller city, Aditi described life in Nagpur as "peaceful and easy-going." She emphasized the availability of affordable domestic help, less traffic, and inexpensive yet delicious food. “The best things about tier-two cities are affordable cooking and domestic help, great food which is not very expensive, fairly less crowded, and affordable shopping options with variety,” she said.

Adding a humorous touch, she mentioned her father acts as her “personal shopper,” driving her around the city.
