After Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) sent a threat of vandalism to multiplex owners if they were to screen ' Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', the film's producers have sought help from the Mumbai Police for protection.

Mukesh Bhatt, who is the President of the Film & Television Producers Guild of India, and Vijay Singh of Fox Star Studios, reached out to the Mumbai Police for help.

Ashok Dudhe, the DCP of Mumbai Police, said, "The Mumbai Police will provide adequate protection to cinema theatres as and when required."

At a press conference, Bhatt confirmed that the police have assured full protection. ''The police have said that they will intervene if anybody tries to stop the release.''

Referring to the campaign unleashed by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Bhatt emphasised that despite differences, they were united.

"We are not here to complain. We are here to say that we are all one and let us not get fragmented. MNS is like my brother, and while his way of thinking may differ from mine, it’s okay. I would appeal to my brothers in MNS to join us and not let terrorists win the battle by making us fragmented," he said.
