Adobe India MD Shanmugh Natarajan takes a leaf out of Sheryl Sandberg's 'Lean In'

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg gave the business world a new phrase with her book-turned-movement, Lean In. And while that spawned a much larger debate on women’s workplace empowerment, the phrase has hit a home run in many organisations. Take for example Adobe, which has set up ‘Lean In Circles’ based on the movement. It’s an initiative that Shanmugh Natarajan, the MD of the Adobe India, says has benefited the company and their views.

“Expecting one gender to mimic another other in terms of being outspoken, visible or hard at negotiations is not possible. Leaders need to change,” he said. Natarajan says he attends these sessions regularly himself to “learn and grow together”.
