A home away from home, the luxe villas at L’Hermitage in Alibaug are the place to unwind, de-stress and be one with nature.

What the coastal town of Alibaug has to offer is the exact opposite of one’s life in a fastpaced city. L’Hermitage gives you the chance to connect with nature, with a slice of luxury.

Situated in the quaint village of Awas, a five-six minute drive from the Mandwa jetty, L’Hermitage is the brainchild of Aditya Kilachand, son of author Shobhaa De, in collaboration with interior designer Sussanne Khan and architect Cherag Bardolivala, ex-senior associate at Talati and Panthaky.

A cluster of seven super luxe villas, L’Hermitage is designed for nature lovers and lifestyle enthusiasts who aspire for a well-balanced lifestyle with play and repose in equal measure.

Talking about the inspiration for the gated community, Kilachand says, “I’ve spent many of my childhood days in Alibaug, and experienced its calm and beauty. I wanted others to experience something similar with their family and friends. Thus emerged the dream to build something special — a relaxed luxury living experience.”

Built on one - acre plo ts, L’Hermitage’s spacious villas have F rench and Spanish design influences, boho-chic home décor elements, and vast vistas of the plush green outdoors. Evok i n g a n i sl a nd vibe, Khan describes L’Hermitage as: “The feeling one gets when they are in complete balance with their inner engineer. The design includes layers of materials that evoke tranquillity, and hues that bring out a feeling of calm.” To give each resident a personalised living experience, Khan will conduct one-on-one consultations to blend their design visions.

Safe haven
All the seven villas will reflect a similar design philosophy. However, each will be unique to its plot parameters. Bardolivala, the principal design architect, says: “L’Hermitage is conceptualised as a haven, where those residing can constantly engage with natural elements, something city living lacks.”

Each villa has top-of-the-line fittings, bathroom fixtures, a modular kitchen, digitised home cinema, integrated universal weatherproof sound system, automated climate and lighting controls, a temperature-controlled Balinese swimming pool, and an in-built jacuzzi, among other essentials.

A tie-up with a leading facilities management company ensures that all basic housekeeping services like cleaning, gardening, plumbing, electricity checks, and pool maintenance are done before residents visit.
