Her legal team emphasized that personal lives should not be treated as public commentary, urging that her name not be drawn into matters unrelated to her. Nagenthran also revealed that senior party figures, including Mahila Morcha chief Vanathi Srinivasan and former state president K Annamalai, had spoken to him about the issue. Expressing regret, he said he was deeply sorry if his words had caused hurt. Earlier, while speaking to reporters in Madurai, he had similarly maintained that there was no intention to offend anyone.
