Actress-MP Nusrat Jahan's son's birth certificate shows baby's father as Yash Dasgupta

Actress and Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan has named her baby boy, Yishaan J. Dasgupta.

As per a report in news agency IANS, the infant's birth certificate on the website of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation shows his full name, and mentions his father's name as Debashis Dasgupta. Debashish is the official name of Bengali actor Yash Dasgupta, who also forayed into politics contesting the recent West Bengal Assembly elections from Chanditala in the Hooghly district on a BJP ticket. The 35-year-old had lost the election.

In an interaction with the media after the birth of her baby, Jahan had slammed a question on the name of her son's father, "I think that's a vague question to ask and put a black spot on somebody's character as a woman. The father knows who the father is and we are having a great parenthood moment together. Myself and Yash, we are having a good time."


Earlier this month, the 31-year-old posted a picture on Instagram, with the caption, "Don't take criticism from people u won't take advice from. #newrole #newmommylife #newlook pic courtesy: Daddy."

Jahan and Dasgupta's alleged relationship has caused much buzz.

In 2019, the actress-turned-MP had tied the knot with businessman Nikhil Jain, but the couple separated soon afterwards.

The Basirhat MP, in a statement released in June this year, said that she does not need to get divorced as her marriage with Jain was never valid under Indian law. As it was an interfaith wedding solemnised on foreign land as per Turkish Marriage Regulation, it was considered invalid under the Special Marriage Act in India, she had added.

"Our separation happened long back, but I did not speak about it as I intended to keep my private life to myself," she added.



Jain, too, had issued a statement saying that her behaviour changed towards him from August 2020 when she was shooting for a film.


Jahan gave birth to Yishaan on August 26, and was accompanied by Dasgupta on her hospital visits.
