Actor R Madhavan’s interesting social media updates never fail to brighten up our day. The 56-year-old was last seen in director Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster movie Dhurandhar 2, led by Ranveer Singh. Madhavan slipped into the shoes of Ajay Sanyal, the sharp and calculating Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). Up next, the Bollywood star has been roped in for a Tamil biographical drama, titled G.D.N. But beyond films, Madhavan also harbours a soft spot for golf. So, it isn’t a surprise that his latest post is a tribute to a 103-year-old golfer from Omaha, in the US.

103-year-old’s love for golf

The video originally posted by AP News was reshared by R Madhavan on his Instagram Stories. The name of the elderly gentleman is Bob Walls, who discovered his love for golf much later in life, but it did not stop the 103-year-old from going all in on the game. According to Walls, age is just a number, as neither he feels like 103 nor acts like one. ‘To me, it is no big deal,’ he says bluntly, adding that the sport is the only activity he thinks about every day after waking up in the morning.

Bob Walls, born in St. Marys, Kansas, in 1923, however, survived a heart attack, underwent multiple heart surgeries and even overcame a transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke). But he still stays fit and active, considering his age is due to his good genes, revealed the elderly golfer. As per Walls, both his parents lived into their late 90s, and hence he credits them for his own longevity.

All about the 103-year-old golfer and R Madhavan

Bob Walls moved to Omaha in 1947 after serving in World War II. After spending years owning and operating a janitorial service, he took up golf as a hobby at 74 after his retirement with a little push of encouragement from his friend. Now, Walls can regularly shoot in the low 30s on the par-3 Hogan course. He remains attentive to his stance, swing plane and the direction his shoulders are pointing at his finish. At present, he has been trying to be more consistent with his lob wedge so he doesn’t have to rely so much on his sand wedge.
