A shocking incident involving the family of actor Pankaj Tripathi has surfaced from Bihar's Gopalganj district. The actor's elder brother, Vijayendranath Tiwari, was allegedly attacked with an axe during a dispute in his native village and suffered serious injuries. The incident has triggered a police investigation, with authorities already arresting one accused in connection with the case.

The alleged attack took place late on June 21 in Belsand Tiwari Tola village under the Madhopur Police Station area. Officials said the dispute was linked to a long-standing issue over land ownership, according to IANS report

Vijayendranath Tiwari shifted to Patna for treatment

According to police officials, Vijayendranath Tiwari sustained severe injuries during the assault. Following the incident, he was rushed to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital for immediate medical attention.


As his condition required advanced treatment, doctors later referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in Patna. Medical authorities have since stated that his condition is stable and remains under control.

The incident has drawn attention because of Tiwari's connection to acclaimed Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi, who hails from Bihar and is known for films and web series such as Stree 2, Mimi, Mirzapur, and Criminal Justice.

Police link attack to land dispute

Police said preliminary findings suggest that the violence stemmed from an ongoing land dispute between the victim and a neighbour.

Investigators identified the accused as Rajesh Sah, a resident of the same locality. According to the police's initial inquiry, Sah allegedly attacked Vijayendranath Tiwari with an axe following an argument related to the property matter.

Soon after receiving information about the incident, senior police officials, including the SDPO of Sadar-2 and the Madhopur Station House Officer, reached the village and began an investigation.

Authorities said statements from witnesses and local residents are being recorded as part of the probe.

Given the seriousness of the case, police called in a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to examine the crime scene and gather evidence.

During the investigation, the report state that the officials recovered the axe that was allegedly used in the attack. Police also seized blood-stained clothes believed to be connected to the accused.

The forensic examination is expected to play a key role in strengthening the case and helping investigators establish the sequence of events. Officials said all evidence collected from the scene will be examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

Accused arrested, further action underway

Police have confirmed that Rajesh Sah has been arrested in connection with the case. Authorities said the process of sending him to judicial custody is underway.

Further legal proceedings are being carried out based on the evidence collected and statements recorded during the investigation.

While the attack has caused concern in the area, police have clarified that the overall law-and-order situation remains normal. Security and surveillance have also been maintained to prevent any escalation of tensions linked to the dispute.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
