He has also won bronze medals at the Latvian Open and Thailand Open. Vedaant finished fifth at the Commonwealth Youth Games.

Vedaant wants to build his own identity

Despite being the son of a well-known Bollywood actor, Vedaant has expressed a desire to be recognised for his own achievements. In an interview with the Times of India, he said that he did not particularly like being identified as R. Madhavan’s son. He emphasised that he wanted to make his own name and that his competitors respected him for who he was. Vedaant’s swimming journey has continued to develop as he has moved into senior-level competitions. At the 2025 Senior National Aquatic Championships, he finished sixth in the 800m freestyle and won a bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay. He returned to the Senior National Aquatic Championships in 2026 and finished fourth in the 200m freestyle and sixth in the 400m freestyle. He also secured three relay bronze medals at the event.

His relay podium finishes came in the 4x100m freestyle, 4x200m freestyle and mixed 4x100m freestyle events. Following his performances, Vedaant was named in India’s swimming squad for the Asian Games 2026.
