In the video, it stated that the athlete had stood on the podium in China while the Indian national anthem played, describing it as a proud moment for the country. It emphasised that Shankar had achieved something special by winning gold in one of the most demanding events in track and field. Through this, the actor wanted to remind followers that not every inspiring sporting moment trends on social media immediately, but each one deserves to be remembered and celebrated.

Tejaswin Shankar’s victory was historic in several ways. He became the first Indian in 16 years to win gold in the heptathlon at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships. The athlete also set a new national indoor record with a total of 5993 points, surpassing his previous record of 5650 points that he had set in the United States in 2021.

The heptathlon is considered one of the toughest events in athletics as it tests an athlete’s ability across multiple disciplines. During the competition, Shankar delivered strong performances in events such as the 60m hurdles, pole vault and the 1000m race. In the 60m hurdles, he clocked an impressive 8.02 seconds, earning 977 points and gaining a solid lead over his rivals. His consistent performances across events helped him maintain the top position and eventually secure the gold medal.

Long jumper Ancy Sojan added a bronze medal to India’s tally with a solid performance.

Shankar has already established himself as one of India’s top multi-event athletes. He currently holds the national record in the outdoor decathlon with 7826 points, which he achieved in Poland last year. He also won a silver medal in the decathlon at the 2023 Asian Games, further strengthening his reputation on the international stage.
