Actor Dileep arrested in actress attack case

KOCHI: In a major twist to the actor-attack case, the Kerala police have recorded the arrest of popular actor Dileep for his alleged involvement in the conspiracy behind the attack.

Dileep was taken into custody in the early hours of Monday and was questioned for about 10 hours. The arrest was recorded in the evening.

The actress was assaulted in a in a car by a group led by one Pulsar Suni while she was travelling from Thrissur to Kochi. The main accused Pulsar Suni and others were arrested within a week of the incident.

However, the police were clueless about the conspiracy behind the case until they got wind of a letter written by Pulsar Suni to Dileep. The police also traced the calls that the main accused made from the jail to Dileep’s manager.

Dileep and his friend director Nadir Shah were questioned initially by the police for almost 13 hours. But the police waited for few more days to finally make the arrest.
