Actor couldn’t get into college, earned Rs 4,000 as gym trainer and left everything for a TV show. Now, Lakshya Lalwani is owner of a BMW

hile celebrations light up homes across India, some inspiring stories from the industry also shine brightly. Lakshya Lalwani, who recently garnered attention with Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, has a journey full of determination and resilience. From humble beginnings as a gym trainer to making it in television and films, and now owning his dream car, Lakshya’s story is an inspiration for many and also shows how our mothers are the biggest supporters in every dream.

Lakshya journey to stardom

After finishing his 12th grade in 2014 with low marks, Lakshya couldn’t secure admission into college. With few options, he started working as a gym trainer, earning just Rs 3,000–4,000 per month. “I was very happy at the age of 17 that at least I was taking care of my own expenses,” he told Raj Shamani in a podcast.



Lakshya’s career took a turn when a senior from his school, Tarun, who worked at MTV, suggested he audition for the reality show Roadies. Though initially hesitant due to the long audition process, he agreed after encouragement from his mother. He recalled, "Things were just happening for me. I entered the audition just as the gates were about to close, and one official called me forward. I was among the top 10 in the group discussion.”

The actor fondly remembers his family’s reaction to his selection. His father made mutton, and sister kept messaging her friends saying, ‘My brother got into Roadies!’ They were probably happier than even when he was born, Lakshay quipped.

Soon after, Lakshya received an offer to act in a fictional TV show. The role required him to move to Mumbai, with a monthly salary of Rs 55,000, which provided financial independence and a stepping stone into acting. Before making his film debut, he appeared in several television shows including Warrior High, Adhuri Kahaani Humari, Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, and Porus, gradually building his experience and audience following.

Even when both his Dharma Productions films, Dostana 2 and Bedhadak, were shelved, Lakshya did not give up. Despite offers for lucrative television projects, he remained focused on pursuing a career in Bollywood. This determination led him to make his feature film debut in 2023 with the movie Kill, marking a significant milestone in his journey.

On Lakshya owning a BMW

In 2023, Lakshya fulfilled another dream by buying his BMW 5 Series. Recalling the decision, he said, “It was a very tough choice. I was driving a 2016 Honda City and wasn’t sure if I should buy the car, but my father encouraged me. When I saw the BMW, I knew it was my dream car, and it was time to reward myself for all the hard work.”


He also shared a light moment, saying his mother immediately sat in the driver’s seat even though she didn’t know how to drive, insisting he take the car. From earning Rs 4,000 as a gym trainer to starring in popular television shows and films, and finally owning his dream car, Lakshya Lalwani’s story is one of ambition, resilience, and unwavering focus on his goals.
