Actor Aayush Sharma recently recounted his struggles in Bollywood
Aayush Sharma recently reflected on his struggling beginnings in Mumbai, sharing how his ambition to enter the film industry triggered a strong and discouraging reaction from his family, particularly his father. He also recounted a later incident when he approached his father with a request for substantial financial backing to establish himself in Bollywood, only to receive a firm refusal.

Initially, Aayush relocated to Mumbai under the guise of pursuing higher education. He secured admission at Jai Hind College for a Bachelor of Management Studies program. During this time, he lived a comfortable life—renting an apartment in Bandra, employing domestic help, and even persuading his father to purchase a car for him. However, alongside his academic commitments, he had already begun exploring his passion for acting by enrolling in professional workshops.

As his focus shifted away from studies, his attendance at college dropped significantly, eventually falling to an alarmingly low level. This prompted the college authorities to contact his father in Himachal Pradesh. Concerned and disappointed, his father traveled to Mumbai to confront the situation. The family felt embarrassed, especially after having proudly shared with relatives that their son had moved to the city to build a successful future.

It was during this tense confrontation that Aayush finally admitted his true aspiration of becoming an actor. His father’s response, however, was brutally honest and deeply discouraging. He pointed out what he believed were shortcomings in Aayush’s physical appearance, personality, and overall suitability for the film industry. Drawing comparisons with legendary stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, he made it clear that he did not see his son fitting into that league or succeeding as a leading man.

Beyond criticism, his father also took a decisive step—he withdrew all financial assistance. He instructed Aayush to return home and consider joining the family business instead. With the financial support cut off, Aayush was left to fend for himself, managing with only a rented house, a car, and minimal savings.

As his situation worsened, he eventually found himself with almost no money left. At one point, his account balance had dwindled to just ₹20. During this difficult phase, a close friend came to his aid. After learning about Aayush’s struggles, the friend transferred ₹50,000 to his account, offering much-needed relief and support.

Despite these early hardships, Aayush persevered and eventually made his debut in Bollywood with Loveyatri in 2018, backed by Salman Khan Films. He was most recently seen in Ruslaan (2024), continuing his journey in the film industry after overcoming significant personal and financial challenges.
