Abhishek Bachchan’s advice to married men goes viral amid divorce rumours with Aishwarya Rai

Abhishek Bachchan has a suggestion for married men: “Do as your wife says!” This advice is going viral amid rumours of an impending divorce from wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The ‘Paa’ actor recently attended an event where he was quizzed on his secret to delivering pitch-perfect performances. The host asked him, “Ek chota sa sawaal hai aapse, aap itne badhiya performance dete hai ke critics sawaal nahi utha paate. Kaise kar lete hai aap yeh?" (We have a question for you: You are known for several critically acclaimed performances. How do you do it?)

Abhishek replied, “It is very simple. It has nothing to do with us. We do what the directors tell us to do. Chup chaap kaam karke ghar aa jaate hai." (We do our work quietly and go home).

When the host wryly replied that this sounded a lot like him bowing to his wife’s rules, the ‘Ludo’ actor quipped, “Haan. All married men have to do that. Do as your wife says."


Curiously, this development coincides with ongoing rumors about difficulties in the marriage of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, which have been dominating headlines. Speculation grew stronger earlier this year when the duo attended Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding but chose to face the media separately.

Adding to the buzz, Aishwarya recently posted pictures from her daughter Aaradhya’s birthday celebration, notably excluding any members of the Bachchan family, including Abhishek.
Eagle-eyed netizens on the popular subreddit BollyBlindsGossip noted how both Aishwarya and Abhishek were seen sans their wedding rings. None of the Bachchan family members wished the actress when she celebrated her 51st birthday recently.

Abhishek had denounced divorce speculations, while Aishwarya remains tight-lipped. However, Amitabh Bachchan made an indirect allusion to the rumours. Taking to his blog, Big B requested media not to create salacious rumours about his family.

“I rarely say much about family, because that is my domain and its privacy is maintained by me. Speculations are speculations. They are speculated untruths , without verifications. Verifications are sought by the seekers to authenticate their business and commercials of the profession they be in. I shall not challenge their desire to be in the profession of their choice, and I shall appreciate their effort in serving society. But untruths... or selected question-marked information can be a legal safeguard for them that inform... but the seed of suspected belief is sown with this most used emblem... the question mark...?" he wrote.
