Abhishek Bachchan breaks silence on divorce rumours, says he is 'still married'

For several months, rumors of a troubled marriage between actors Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have been circulating on social media. Speculation has grown due to their social media activity and public appearances, which some have interpreted as signs of a rift.

Recently, a video featuring the Paa actor has gone viral, showing him finally addressing these rumors. Abhishek Bachchan, who has been in Paris for the ongoing 2024 Olympics, spoke to the media and dismissed the divorce rumors. His statement came a day after a fake video surfaced online, falsely claiming he had announced a divorce from Aishwarya.

In an interview with Bollywood UK Media, the ‘Guru’ actor showed off his wedding ring and assured that he was “still married.” He also accused the media of being insensitive in its quest to print gossip. “ “I don't have anything to say to you all about that. You all have blown the entire thing out of proportion, sadly. I understand, why you do it. You have to file some stories. It's okay, we're celebrities, we have to take it.”


In the viral clip shared by a self-proclaimed fan account, Abhishek is seen allegedly announcing his separation from Aishwarya Rai, even mentioning their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. In the video, he supposedly says, "...This July, Aishwarya and I have decided to get divorced." However, the authenticity of the video is questionable. Social media users have pointed out inconsistencies in the video’s sync, leading many to believe it is fabricated.


So far, Abhishek and Aishwarya have chosen not to comment on the matter.

The video has raised concerns about the misuse of Artificial Intelligence technologies. Some users have also suggested that the video is old, originally showing the actor discussing a school, with a new voiceover added later.
