Veteran actress and mimicry artist Aasha Singh Jaiswal has died in Mumbai. The actress, who was known for her work in films and television, passed away on August 22 at the age of 7:30 pm, according to her son Akkash Bharadwaj. Her death was confirmed by Akkash, who told ANI that his mother breathed her last in Mumbai. Her passing has left her family and those who knew her work mourning her loss.

Aasha Singh Jaiswal was also remembered for her mimicry performances and her association with popular television. According to reports, she appeared in BR Chopra’s iconic television series Mahabharat, where she played Kripi, the sister of Kripacharya. While details about the cause of her death have not been made public, her family has confirmed the news of her passing.

Aasha Singh Jaiswal dies in Mumbai

Speaking to ANI, Akkash Bharadwaj said that Aasha died on the evening of August 22 at around 7:30 pm in Mumbai. He added that the family carried out her last rites the following morning.


Aasha’s final rites were held on August 23 at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle West, Mumbai. The family bid farewell to the veteran artiste, who spent years working across films and television.

The family has not shared any further details about the circumstances surrounding her death. As of now, there is no confirmed information about the cause of death.

Son Akkash Bharadwaj remembers his mother

Following her death, Akkash paid an emotional tribute to his mother on Instagram. Remembering her dedication, he described Aasha as a hardworking “Iron Lady” and asked people to pray for peace and salvation for her soul.

He wrote, "Wah ek karmath Loh-Mahila (Iron Lady) thi. Aap sabhi unki aatma ki sadgati evam shanti ke liye prarthna karen. Aur unke kaam ko social media par zarur dekhen aur yaad rakhen taaki unki aatma jahan bhi hon prasanchitt ho ki aap unka kaam ab bhi dekh aur yaad kar rahen hain (She was a hardworking Iron Lady. Please pray for the peace and salvation of her soul. Do watch and remember her work on social media so that her soul, wherever it may be, feels pleased knowing that you still watch and remember her work)"

In his message, Akkash also opened up about how deeply Aasha was connected to her profession. He said that her work had been central to her life and expressed hope that her dedication would continue to be remembered even after her death.

Akkash further shared his mother’s outlook towards death, asking people not to look at it only through grief. Instead, he recalled her belief in finding spiritual peace and divine bliss.
