Aaron Sorkin apologises for bashing Apple CEO Tim Cook

LOS ANGELES: "Steve Jobs" screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has apologised days after slamming Apple CEO Tim Cook over his remarks on the upcoming biopic.

Sorkin had criticised Cook after the business executive appeared on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" and called the slate of recent films about the late Apple co-founder "opportunistic," reported Entertainment Weekly.

"Nobody did this movie to get rich," the writer had said. "Secondly, Tim Cook should really see the movie before he decides what it is."

In a turn of events, Sorkin has offered an apology to Cook, saying, "You know what, I think that Tim Cook and I probably both went a little too far. And I apologise to Tim Cook. I hope when he sees the movie, he enjoys it as much as I enjoy his products."

"Steve Jobs", directed by Danny Boyle opens in US theatres on October 9. It stars Michael Fassbender in the titular role, Seth Rogen, Kate Winslet, and Jeff Daniels.
