Superstar Aamir Khan is often praised for having maintained a cordial relationship with his ex-wives, Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta. In a recent interview, his long-time friend and associate, actor-writer-filmmaker Amin Hajee, revealed that despite the marriage being over, he still holds his former spouses with regard.

“He hasn’t changed the dynamics he has with his ex-wives. The relationships he has maintained within the family are not fake. There is pure love there,” said Hajee’s wife Charlotte to journalist Siddharth Kannan.

Hajee joked that Aamir had once quipped that he is a “better” ex-husband than a spouse.

Aamir Khan is currently married to Gauri Spratt. Prior to their marriage, he was married to Reena Dutta, with whom he shares two children, Junaid and Ira. In 2005, Aamir married filmmaker Kiran Rao. The couple became parents to their son Azad in 2011 through surrogacy before deciding to part ways in 2021.

Charlotte Hajee, wife of Hajee, has highlighted Aamir's remarkably optimistic nature as one of the traits that distinguishes him from others. According to her, despite the immense pressures that accompany his personal life and his status as one of the country's biggest film stars, Aamir continues to approach people and situations with a positive outlook. She believes he has a rare ability to focus on people's virtues rather than dwelling on their shortcomings.

Charlotte also acknowledged the intense criticism that celebrities and other public personalities frequently encounter, especially because of social media. She noted that Aamir has faced considerable negative attention over the years, including harsh reactions following the release of *Laal Singh Chaddha*. In today's digital environment, criticism can spread rapidly, with people freely making personal and sometimes hurtful comments without much accountability.

Despite facing such negativity, Aamir apparently does not allow unpleasant experiences to permanently damage his relationships. Instead, he chooses to preserve his connections with people and continues trying to recognise the positive qualities in them. This ability to look beyond criticism and maintain faith in others, Charlotte suggested, is an important part of Aamir's personality.
