Bollywood actor Rajesh Vivek, mainly known for his roles in superhits like 'Lagaan' and 'Swades', died due to a heart attack in Hyderabad on Thursday. He was 66 years of age.

Aamir Khan, who had produced and acted with him in 'Lagaan', paid rich tribute to the actor. In a post on his Facebook page, Khan remembered his 'Lagaan' co-star whose reel name was 'Guran' as an inspiration. He also mentioned his indefatigable "spirit, energy and his love for humanity".


Veteran director Shyam Benegal had first introduced Upadhyay in his 1978 classic 'Junoon'. In his film career, he had acted in over 30 films including Shaad Ali's "Bunty Aur Babli", "Bhoot Unkle", "What is Your Rashee", "Agnipath", "Son of Sardaar" and "Dishkiyaaun".

He had also been a part of some iconic TV shows like Bharat Ki Khoj, Mahabharat and Ighori.
