Aamir Khan gets teary-eyed, reveals he felt a ‘deep sense of loss’: ‘Have lost relationships…’
Aamir Khan recently experienced an emotional breakdown at an event in Singapore. The superstar once said that he experienced a chilling epiphany about how he had spent 30 years prioritising his career, and he had failed to be an active presence in...

“When I was sitting during COVID, I was thinking… I said, you know, about 30 years of my life have passed… And it’s okay to work like a madman, completely obsessed with what you’re doing for one year, two years, five years. But if it goes on for 30 years, I mean, you’ve lost your relationships. Your kids have grown up; they’re adults now. So I felt a deep sense of loss,” he said.
He also added that though this realisation left him emotionally devastated, he also revealed he was relieved this epiphany came to him at 56 rather than 86.
The 3 Idiots star also said how he became selective about the number of films he did. He said that at the beginning of his career, following the success of his debut, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, he decided to sign up for multiple films, and a lot of them underperformed at the box office, and he was also labelled as a “one-film wonder".
"At that time, mentally and emotionally, I felt like I was in quicksand. I’m sinking slowly, and the more I’m struggling to get out, the deeper I’m going,” he said.
Khan was last seen in the sports drama Sitaare Zameen Par. The movie, which was a spiritual successor to the 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, became a major hit and earned Rs 266 crore at the worldwide box office.
