Aamir Khan recently spoke on Dhurandhar 2 success
Dhurandhar 2 is currently dominating theatres, setting new milestones at the box office across regions. The film’s overwhelming commercial success has been matched by widespread appreciation from members of the film fraternity, many of whom have turned to social media platforms to applaud its grand vision, storytelling ambition, and visually striking presentation. Despite the wave of praise surrounding the project, one major figure who has not yet joined the chorus is Aamir Khan, as he has not watched the film so far.

During the second day of the International Film Festival of Delhi 2026, Aamir addressed the ongoing buzz in an interaction with journalists. He shared that although he has not had the opportunity to view the film personally, he has consistently heard highly positive responses about it. Reflecting on both installments of the franchise, he acknowledged that Dhurandhar 1 and its sequel have performed remarkably well, and he extended his heartfelt good wishes to the entire team behind the films.

Meanwhile, another voice from within the industry has contributed a different perspective to the conversation. Imran Khan, Aamir’s nephew, recently sparked discussion with his unfiltered comments on the increasing popularity of intensely violent lead characters in cinema. During an interactive session on Reddit, Imran made it clear that he is not drawn to roles that revolve around aggressive, blood-soaked personas. He suggested that such character types have already been explored extensively and no longer hold creative appeal for him.

Elaborating further, Imran raised concerns about the underlying messaging in films that center on extreme aggression. He pointed out that these narratives often appear to validate uncontrolled anger and impulsive behavior, particularly in characters who struggle to cope with rejection or emotional challenges. According to him, such portrayals risk normalizing problematic conduct rather than offering meaningful storytelling.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 has not only generated intense debate but has also achieved staggering financial success. The film has amassed an impressive gross of approximately Rs 770 crore within India, cementing its position as one of the biggest cinematic hits in recent times.
