The composer has given many hit songs like 'Aal Izz Well', 'Zoobi Doobi' and many others.
Composer Shantanu Moitra might be making waves in Bollywood with his soulful tunes, but at heart he is still a Mama's boy. Like the good son he is, Moitra recently paid a touching tribute to his mother. Like his music, the composer also decided to keep his post free from frills yet meaningful. His message was short but sweet.

The ‘Aal Izz Well’ (‘3 Idiots’) composer took to Facebook to share a precious video of his mother dancing, with his fans. The video was accompanied with a heartfelt caption, “ My mother Manju Moitra is dancing to a Rabindra sangeet . She is nearing 80. Age is just a number. May she get even more younger with each year passing ....”

In the video, Mrs Moitra could be seen dancing gracefully to Rabindranath Tagore’s evergreen ballad, ‘Amar Moner Koner Baire’ (Outside the periphery of my mind). Every twirl and each hand mudra is performed to perfection. Age has not dimmed Mrs Moitra’s grace and exuberance. She is seen wearing a traditional Bengali attire - an orange blouse and cream-white sari, paired with a pink rose pinned to her hair, and a couple of wafer-thin bracelets, making her look like a million-bucks!

The video has gone viral on Facebook and currently has over 103K likes. Fans praised the video profusely. One wrote, “Amazing grace… saluting her spirit, talent and beauty.” Another social media user commented, “ Grace personified.”

On the work front, Moitra recently worked on the 2022 adventure drama film ‘Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga’ as a composer. The film is directed by Srijit Mukherji and starred notable actors like Pankaj Tripathi, Sayani Gupta and Neeraj Kabi in the lead. He also shot a travel series titled ‘Songs of the River’. The vlog series can be streamed at Disney+Hotstar.
