There is probably nothing better than travelling for some inspiration, and designer Bibhu Mohapatra, whose celebrity muses range from Michelle Obama to Freida Pinto, concurs.

In fact, it's not just the journey but also elements that inspire him — take for instance his jewellery line. Mohapatra says his diamond collection stems from the sun, moon and stars and that it is a representative of the larger than life dreams of most people. These are the themes his travel tales are made up of as well.

"While planning a trip, I look for a great location, food and a culture that I love to explore," he says, adding that a luxury trip "is one that remains vivid in memory for a long time".

While Mohapatra's favourite holiday destination is Tangier, in Morocco, the most memorable trip he has had so far was in Turkey. He says, "Yalikavak is a beautiful village on the Aegean sea. I had rented this little stone house on the mountain with the most incredible view of the fishing village. The housekeeper cooked delicious meals and the house had a well-curated wine cellar." How about that for inspiration?
