A 'superb gesture': PM Modi lauds Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan's 'Coolie No. 1' for going plastic-free on set
Dhawan had shared a picture of the cast and crew with steel water bottles instead of plastic ones.

Quoting actor Varun Dhawan's tweet, that showed the cast and crew of the film with steel water bottles, PM Modi, wrote, "Superb gesture by the team of #CoolieNo1! Happy to see the film world contributing towards freeing India from single use plastic."

— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) 1568258051000Dhawan, who stars in the movie opposite Sara Ali Khan, had on September 1 shared a picture on his Twitter handle, saying, "Being a plastic-free nation is the need of the hour and great initiative taken by our prime minister and we can all do this by making small changes. The sets of #CoolieNo1 will now only use steel bottles. @PMOIndia."
The Prime Minister has called for a global boycott of single-use plastic.
The film, a remake of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor's 1995 hit, is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh.
