BENGALURU: Passengers and visitors at the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport) were enthralled by talented performances in dance, ventriloquism and yakshaganaon the second day of the ongoing cultural extravaganza. The event is being organised by the Bangalore International Airport Limited, operators of BLR Airport, in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka in order to showcase the rich cultural heritage of South India, with music and dance performances.

Cultural programmes on the second day included a Bharatnayam performance by the highly talented Kumari. Jhanvi Jeevan. The ventriloquism performance which followed held the audience in rapt attention. Indushree, India’s first female ventriloquist and five-time Limca Book record holder and winner of Indian woman achiever award from the President of India mesmerised the onlookers with an incredible performance. The days’ events concluded with a Yakshagana performance by Dr. R. K Urala and team. The cultural program on Monday included a stimulating performance by award-winning Hindustani Classical vocalist Smt. Sangeeta Katti, followed by a dazzling Mohiniattam performance by Sreelekha, one of the earliest employees of BIAL and a one-hour classical dance performance by Vidhwan Ashok and team.

As part of the celebrations, BIAL also put up a display of Gombe (dolls) at the kerb to signify and celebrate the traditional folklore of the Gombe Habba. A special Dasara food menu, which will be available inside the Terminal for passengers, has been curated to add flavour to the festivities. Two exquisite crystal rangolis have been displayed at Terminal to enhance the festive fervour. Passengers can also experience a Dasara-themed virtual reality game with Ravana as the main protagonist. Passengers, who play the game and win, will be given gift vouchers that can be redeemed at select outlets at the Airport. A special Dasara food menu, which will be available inside the Terminal for passengers, has been curated to add flavour to the festivities Several renowned classical and folk artistes will enthral the visitors and passengers at the BLR Airport everyday between 6.00 pm and 8.30 pm till Friday.
