A push for sustainable living: Sangeeta Ahir meets Aaditya Thackeray, mayor Kishori Pednekar

Social entrepreneur and founder of charitable trust Shree Sankalp Pratishthan, Sangeeta Ahir, recently had a closed-door meeting with Cabinet Minister Aaditya Thackeray and Mayor Kishori Pednekar. She was accompanied by Marianela Mirpuri, founder of Mirpuri Foundation and Hera – The Light of Women, from Portugal.

During the meeting, Ahir discussed with Thackeray and Pednekar issues related to the environment, namely the use of plastic and how sustainability is of primary importance in today’s time.

Ahir and Mirpuri also highlighted the need for women empowerment by ensuring that they are financially empowered.

Both the minister and the mayor seemed receptive to their ideas and suggestions, and said that they were looking forward to working with Ahir and her organisation in the near future.
