'A leader can make the impossible possible.' Vedanta boss bowled over as Sanju Samson scripts game-changing win for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans

No one thought Gujarat Titans (GT) would lose the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) after Hardik Pandya's team dominated the opponents' batting line-up on Sunday.

Vedanta Resources Limited Chairman Anil Agarwal, who was watching the intense match with his wife Kiran on Sunday, also was confident that GT would take home the trophy.

After RR lost two wickets at four runs, the business tycoon said that his wife was confident that RR was set for a loss. "When Rajasthan Royals lost two wickets at four runs, my wife was quite sure that the other team would win the match," Agarwal said in his tweet.


However, things took a sudden turn when RR captain Sanju Samson and his teammate Shimron Hetmyer turned the match around with their explosive knocks and powerplay. RR won the game by three wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Agarwal was impressed with Samson's leadership that saved RR's sinking ship. He tweeted, "I was watching IPL with my wife last night and it made me realise how a leader can make the impossible possible ... their captain showed what true leadership is…"

Lauding Samson's game-changing win, the 69-year-old mining boss said that the RR skipper didn't just play but, but encouraged his teammate that victory was possible.

Bowled over by Samson's skills, Agarwal said that a true leader always helps ignite enthusiasm in his teammates. "Not only did he (Samson) play well, but gave confidence to his team that the match is winnable ... energy & enthusiasm reflected in every RR player. What a match! It's a leader's job is not just win, but also inculcate the enthusiasm in each team member," he wrote.


On Sunday, Samson became the first batsman to complete 3,000 runs for RR. He reached the milestone during the IPL 2023 match against GT.

Meanwhile, GT skipper Pandya also achieved a significant milestone on Sunday by scoring 2,000 runs during the match against RR.
