A handle on history: Leander Paes encounters his special racquet after 18 years

Leander Paes recently encountered a special racquet at a special place.

It was the frame with which he won the doubles title at the Hall of Fame tournament in Newport, Rhode Island, in 1999.

Newport is also where Paes won the lone singles title of his career, in 1998. The racquet was displayed in the tournament’s museum.
