A game of football helps Yash Kotak de-stress, bond with the team

The Bombay Hemp Company co-founder said football allows him to pursue an activity beyond the scope of every day work.

Yash Kotak doesn't emulate Ronaldo on the pitch, he says he has his own natural game.

Yash Kotak, co-founder of the Bombay Hemp Company, says he turns to football every time he wants to de-stress. “Football helps me vent. Since I play the game with other co-founders, it also helps build a great team spirit and allows us to pursue an activity beyond the scope of day to day work,” he says.

Kotak says he’s joined by his partners — Delzaad Deolaliwala, Avnish Pandya, Chirag Tekchandaney and Sanvar Oberoi — at Mumbai’s Lower Parel or Cooperage for a game at least twice a week.

Kotak, a fan of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, says he plays in the central attacking midfield position, the No.10 role. “I don’t try to emulate Ronaldo on the pitch; I have my own natural game. Everybody has their thing, you might not be the best at it, but it makes you happy. Football is my thing and playing with my buddies also creates memories,” he says.
