A four-part chronicle on Gai's life to be unveiled in Mumbai and Delhi
A retrospective at the Guggenheim in New York and the distinction of being an auction favourite has put Indian master V S Gaitonde on the global art map. Interest in this modern and contemporary artist has revived in the recent years, with his works fetching prices as high as Rs 30 crore at auctions.

Given this backdrop, a biography on Gaitonde’s life is not just timely but also much needed. Mumbai-based Bodhana Arts and Research Foundation, in collaboration with the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art and the Raza Foundation, are working on a four-part chronicle of the artist’s life.

The first part was unveiled in Mumbai and Delhi recently, with the art fraternity stepping out in numbers to show support and affection for Gai, as he was called by friends and family.
