It’s no secret that Aditi Kothari shares a passion for wildlife safaris and nature conservation with her father Hemendra Kothari, the veteran investment banker.

But apparently her love for the whole nine yards is inherited from her late mother, who passed away in 2005. The director of DSP BlackRock Investment Managers spoke of her affinity for ikat and raw silk saris in a recent interview to a fashion magazine, revealing that she treasures all of her mother’s saris.

There’s one she especially cherishes, along with the memory of when it was bought. Aditi singled out the French chiffon sari that she wore at her wedding in 2015 to private equity investor Vikram Desai. She clearly remembers the day her mother bought it, even though she was just a seven-year-old then.

Clearly, some heirloom pieces are more sentimental than others.
