Jr. NTR has once again grabbed attention, this time not for a film release but for his striking physical transformation. A recent gym photo shared by the actor has gone viral, leaving fans stunned. In the image, he is seen showing off his chiselled back and muscular arms, hinting at intense preparation for his next big project, Dragon. The transformation has sparked curiosity, especially after reports revealed he lost nearly 9.5 kg in just a few weeks.

Jr NTR's beast mode transformation

The actor shared the picture on Instagram, where his back faces the camera. With the caption “Built. Not bought.”, Jr NTR made it clear that the transformation is the result of discipline and hard work. The look is reportedly for his upcoming film, tentatively titled Dragon, which is being directed by Prashanth Neel.



According to his trainer Kumar Mannava, the transformation was not just about losing weight but about achieving a leaner and more defined body. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Mannava explained that Jr NTR shed around 9.5 kg in just seven weeks. The aim was to reduce muscle mass and create a sharper, more agile look suited to the character he will be playing in the film.

The secret behind Jr NTR's fitness

To achieve this, the actor’s fitness routine underwent a major shift. Instead of focusing on heavy weight training for muscle gain, his workouts now include more functional exercises and cardio sessions. Mannava revealed that Jr NTR trains early in the morning, with sessions lasting anywhere between 45 to 90 minutes depending on the day’s focus. The combination of cardio and moderate resistance training helped him gradually move towards a leaner physique.


One of the most surprising changes, however, came in his diet. Unlike the usual high-protein diets followed by actors for muscle building, Jr NTR adopted a very low-protein diet. As per his trainer, this was a deliberate move to reduce the muscle mass he had built over the years. The diet played a key role in helping him achieve the desired transformation in a short span of time.

According to Healthline, a low-protein diet limits protein intake to about 4–8 per cent of daily calories, roughly 20–50 grams depending on your needs. Usually, people are advised to consume 10–15 per cent. While protein is essential, reducing it can help manage certain conditions, especially for those with kidney or liver issues, under proper guidance.

The upcoming film Dragon is said to be a large-scale action drama with an emotionally driven storyline. Reports suggest that the film may also feature actors like Anil Kapoor and Biju Menon in important roles. While more details about the project are still under wraps, the buzz around it continues to grow, especially with Jr NTR’s new look making headlines.
