8th Bengaluru International Film Festival schedule announced
BENGALURU: The 8TH Bengaluru International Film Festival, organised by the Karnataka Chalachitra Academy, will be held from January 28 TO February 4. The seven-day festival will screen over 170 films from 61 countries.

In a first, the organising committee will be headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Minister for Information and Public Relations, Roshan Baig, is the executive chairman. Actress and Member of Legislative Council, Jayamala, is the artistic director of the festival.

For the first time, the festival will be held simultaneously in Bengaluru and Mysuru. It will be inaugurated on the evening of January 28 in the premises of Vidhana Soudha. Screenings for delegates will begin from January 29 and will be held across 11 screens at PVR Cinemas in Orion Mall, Rajajinagar and four screens at INOX Cinemas, Mysuru.

Films will be screened under the sections 'Contemporary: Cinema of World', 'Country Focus: Mexico, Iran, Turkey', 'Directors' Retrospectives', apart from artist retrospectives, tributes, vintages and documentaries. Three competitions for Asian, Indian and Kannada films will be conducted.
