Racers believe the Sochi circuit can be challenging with its combination of high-speed straights and several 90-degree bends, especially in the last sector.
Round 16 of the season takes F1 teams and drivers to Russia. Here are the eight things you can expect from the former Olympic Park in Sochi
1. Designed by Hermann Tilke, the Sochi Autodrom made its debut in 2014, with the circuit looping around the park built for the city’s Winter Olympics the same year.
2. The track’s epic Turn 3 is a 750 m constantradius left-hander taking the drivers around the outside of the Poyushchiye fountain.
3. Racers believe the Sochi circuit can be challenging with its combination of high-speed straights and several 90-degree bends, especially in the last sector.
5. Sebastian Vettel will continue to build momentum at the Russian Grand Prix, after winning his first GP in over a year in Singapore last weekend. Sochi Autodrom is a circuit where Vettel and his teammate have come close to winning but never quite managed it, despite starting from the front row.

6. Ferrari has won the last three races and enjoyed three successive pole positions, but Formula One leader Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes is not losing much sleep about the situation. Hamilton’s only rival is his teammate Valtteri Bottas who is 65 points behind Hamilton with six races remaining.
7. Sebastian Vettel is 102 points behind Hamilton and would need four blanks from Hamilton from the final six races just to be in with a shout.
8. The last time Ferrari won three consecutive races was in 2008. Sebastian Vettel also became the first driver to win five times in Singapore.
