According to a video posted on Instagram by Kolkata-based digital creator Aradhana Chatterjee, Sadiq Pal has been running a small but popular sugarcane juice shop opposite Khar Railway Station in Mumbai for over 80 years. He is carrying forward the business which was originally started by his father. Now, Sadiq Pal and his son run the roadside stall.
Aradhana Chatterjee, who frequently uploads human-oriented stories on Instagram, revealed in the video that Sadiq Pal was a teenager when he started working in the shop. Due to poverty, he was only able to attend school till the second standard before taking up his father’s business. Despite not completing his education, the elderly vendor had gathered profound wisdom through years of experience, life events and interacting with customers.
