Crawford’s son, Presley Gerber, whom she shared with her husband, businessman Rande Gerber, passed away on Sunday, September 20. He was 27. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed in a statement that Gerber breathed his last at a rehabilitation facility, although the cause of his death has not been revealed as of yet. For the unversed, Presley Gerber celebrated his 27th birthday this July. On the occasion, Cindy Crawford made his day extra special by wishing her son on Instagram. She penned a short and sweet emotional message for Gerber and also attached a couple of pictures from Gerber’s childhood.

The first snap captures Crawford cradling a toddler Gerber at what appears to be a beach. The little one is seen lying on top of his mother, his blonde hair all drenched, flashing a cute smile. Meanwhile, Crawford poses for the lens, wearing a pair of black sunglasses.


The following image showcases Crawford and a teen Gerber twinning in reflective green and red sunglasses, respectively. If anything, the pictures display the close bond shared between the mother-son duo. Crawford’s heartfelt caption read, ‘Happy birthday, Presley Gerber. Presley Gerber’s sister talks about her brother

Crawford also has a daughter, Kaia Gerber. In an interview with Vogue magazine, published just a month before Jeff’s death, Kaia had opened up about her brother’s struggles with mental health and drug abuse.

Kaia said that having a situation like this affect a family can make everyone feel equally vulnerable. She explained that she had consequently come to see herself as the easier child and became reluctant to seek help, feeling that it would be overwhelming for her parents to deal with the needs of both their children.

She also reflected on how her parents had maintained a very private life and rarely discussed personal matters publicly. According to Kaia, her brother’s experiences changed that dynamic, as his openness about his struggles made the family confront how difficult it can be to keep personal challenges hidden from the outside world.
