Old clip of Rakesh Bedi trends amid Dhurandhar 2 success
A 12-year-old television clip featuring veteran actor Rakesh Bedi is suddenly everywhere online, and the timing has caught people’s attention. The video, originally from the TV show Qubool Hai, is now being widely shared after the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, with many wondering if it somehow connects to the current film’s theme or title.

Old clip resurfaces amid Dhurandhar buzz

The viral scene dates back to around 12 years ago when Qubool Hai was airing with Karan Singh Grover and Surbhi Jyoti in lead roles. In a short but noticeable appearance, Rakesh Bedi played a strict, rule-following officer. What has now grabbed attention is his character’s name — Dhurandhar Watavdekar.

In the clip, he introduces himself as a no-nonsense officer who is fully committed to his duty and country, even saying through his actions that he would go to any extent to protect it. With the word “Dhurandhar” now strongly associated with the film franchise, viewers are connecting the dots, even if it may just be a coincidence.

Internet reactions call it ‘peak detailing’

Once the video started circulating, social media users quickly jumped in with reactions. Some joked that this was “peak detailing” by filmmaker Aditya Dhar, even though the show and the film are unrelated.

A few comments that went viral included, “Bro predicted in 2011 but we didn’t get that he is real dhurandhar,” while another read, “Peak Detailing by Aditya Dhar.” There were also users calling Bedi “the OG dhurandhar,” treating the resurfaced clip as an inside joke tied to the film’s popularity.

When it was my last day, Ranveer took the mic and said that if the film makes ₹1,000 crore at the box office, then ₹500 crore will be because of Rakesh ji)!”

Reacting to the praise, Bedi added, “Ek character actor ke liye issey badi respect aur kya ho sakti hai? … Rakesh ji jab aapka last day aayega na shooting ka, toh main ro parunga! Sir, I will miss you! So iss tarah ka atmosphere create hua tha poore film mein. Toh kaam achcha hi hoga na.”
